Biography
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with many years of experience in community-based mental health, college counseling centers, and both psychiatric inpatient and residential treatment programs. I currently work with adolescents, young adults, and adults of various ages around issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, couples therapy, substance abuse, trauma, interpersonal relationships, OCD, and stress management. In addition, I have a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education and many years of teaching experience with young children. I apply my foundational knowledge in child development, the importance of play, and social/emotional learning into my work with children. I am now welcoming children and their families into my practice of mental and behavioral health!
You are brave to take the first step, no matter how big or how small, to launch yourself toward new growth and understanding. There is no right or wrong way to do therapy. I will follow your lead and meet you wherever you are in your process. I trust in you as the expert on your own life and truly value the time it takes to get to know you and what makes you…you. I believe each person has many strengths and abilities to share with the world. I encourage all my clients to harness the power they already have inside them to work through life’s many challenges. I will stand alongside you to support you on your journey to healing, health, and wellness. Each person’s path is different and unique; this is why a customized support structure includes the skills, support, and needed tools specifically for you. The space we work in together is safe, nurturing, and free from judgment. I utilize many different treatment modalities, including Play Therapy, CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction. I practice with strong values in cultural competence, anti-racism, and gender-affirming care.
