Biography

I am an eclectic Mental Health Counselor and have been providing behavioral and mental health care services for 6 years prior to going into private practice. I have worked in community-based settings including homes, schools, clinic, as well as in inpatient hospitals.  In the two years prior to joining Merrimack Valley Psychological Associates, I had been providing outpatient services in a community mental health clinic with a diverse population, which includes working with Elementary School aged children through adolescents.  In addition to my experiences in community mental health, my inpatient work with adolescents and adults with trauma and dissociative disorders gave me invaluable experiences that highlight the importance of compassionate care.  I have training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, the Attachment Regulation and Competency model, Motivational Interviewing, and Sensory Arousal Regulation Therapy.  Both my Bachelors and Masters level education experiences also had a golden thread of social justice, with a focus on LGBTQ+ populations.

I hold values such as transparency, equity, and growth that are infused in my work as a therapist. I am passionate about providing an open an honest service with emphasis on psychoeducation to ensure that as a therapist, I am providing you with knowledge and skill that will transcend beyond the therapy space in support of your goals. Working in community based mental health settings with non-profit agencies has reinforced my value for social justice and equity. As a therapist I conceptualize clinical concerns through an intersectional feminist lens and acknowledge the roles that adversity and privilege can play in individual suffering and success alike.

As I continue to hold space for children, teens, and adults in therapy I have a growing appreciation for the relationships that can occur in this space. Some therapeutic alliances may be long term while others are more fleeting; as a therapist I commit to chapters with individuals like you in the hopes that the remaining chapters in your unique personal story can be filled with more of the things that serve your wellbeing, and less of the things that dampen your light. I value the change that can occur through this connection.
