Offered By Merrimack Valley Psychological Services
When struggling with symptoms and searching for answers, it can be difficult to identify the root cause. MVPS is proud to offer neuropsychological testing from clinicians who can not only diagnose but also provide clarity on academic, cognitive, or social struggles that an individual is experiencing, as well as identify potential conditions or disorders that may be present.
Learning and Behavior evaluations are available for ages 6+ and involve intake, testing, projective testing, reporting, feedback, and continued support.
What is a Neuropsychological Assessment?
A neuropsychological assessment is an in-depth, evidence-based, and structured process that evaluates how someone thinks, processes, learns, and responds to certain stimuli. It is a full and robust process that looks into many facets of cognition to build a profile of strengths and challenges. These tests are standardized, meaning all assessments are conducted based on the same criteria and measured against the same standardized dataset to identify where an abnormality appears, whether that is in learning, emotional regulation, or executive function.
Testing may be sought out when a child is struggling in school, a school requires a diagnosis for testing accommodations, an individual is experiencing uncontrollable or unexplained behaviors, struggling in building or keeping relationships, or someone is trying to understand how and why they think or respond a specific way.
